As a New Zealand Kiwi living in Texas, the pies at this place are amazing. Steak and mushroom is my favorite. Hope to see more pie selections on the menu in the near future, like mince and cheese!

Delicious pies 🥧 had the vegetarian and spinach paneer and they were great. Loved the flaky crust and texture, also they were spiced perfectly.

We were on a one hour stop on Amtrak and the Post is a quick 5 min walk. I’d checked Google reviews and headed straight for 2PBP. Ordered the best seller: curried lamb pie and a ginger beer. One of the owners took my order. He was very friendly and polished. This food is baked to order which adds to freshness. They didn’t take the easy way out by holding the pies hot, ready to go. After about 15 min my buzzer went off. I dove in. Such a flaky crisp crust! The filling is nice and spicy: both chile hot and full of complex spices. It was also piping hot. All-in-all a great little meal!

Been craving a meat pie ever since my trip to New Zealand, so I looked up the best meat pies in Houston and one place that kept popping up was 2 Phat Bastards Pies inside POST Houston in downtown. Walking into the old Houston Post Office was pretty wild—it looks a lot different these days with all the restaurants and food vendors located inside the food hall. I've had meat pies in England, Australia, and New Zealand, with the New Zealand pie still being the best in my opinion. I ordered the pepper steak pie and a steak and mushroom. Everything was made to order and fresh. The wait time was about 14–15 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The pie itself was excellent. The crust was nice and flaky, the gravy was rich and flavorful, and the pepper gave it a little spicy kick. The steak and mushroom pie was also really good, with a great gravy filling. Overall, 2 Phat Bastards Pies was delicious. The only thing we kept wondering was who the 2 Phat Bastards were because both employees working were skinny! If you're in the downtown area, it's definitely worth checking out. Two pies and two Cokes will run you around $30, and don't forget—parking downtown is going to cost you too.

The food is absolutely delicious. I got the steak and mushroom meat pie. Slap your mama good. Crusty, flaky, just so good, and the filling was cooked perfectly. The wait for fresh-made was absolutely worth it. And equally importantly, the staff was friendly, extremely polite, and attentive. I will be back whenever I come back to Houston. Sorry for the picture, it was so good I didn't think to take one until I had gotten that far into it.
